Need to see if new ones clear up the offset issue on the right channel (90mV). The right channel was a mess - Outputs, drivers, and one of the predrivers were all shorted out... thinking it may have backfed some current into the input section. Everything else has been replaced.

A negative feed back design usually does. I have some ghood working takeouts and some new ones. the takeouts were not bad, the lad just wanted all trannies changed out.

Not enough of 'em. Heck man.. the real part's only 10 bucks for a couple of 'em, so might as well use what the circuit calls for, eh?

Whenever you replace a 2SA798 in the Spec 4 or Spec 2 go with a higher rated part, like the 2SA979. the 798's are overloaded in the Spec's.
And all I was suggesting was yoyu could slap a close matched set in the left sharing the emitter holes and see it that wqs the cause of your high offset, just sayin.

Ahh.. gotcha.. but hmmm... I was thinking that matched pairs are normally found in the PNP/NPN variety, so I figured what the hey... I do have two matched sets of the NTE's left, but like I said those have 1 PNP and 1 NPN per pair. Didn't think there may be matches of the same polarity?

Yep, that's how we match the input pairs on the WOPL's. match those TIS-97's. Or getting the BE, BC junction measurements as close as we can.
