Miles: Only found in that particular series run of TDKs... from Mexico? I always check the back of the wrap to ensure the cassette disclaimer doesn't mention the use of TDK tape may cause:
*an increasing sense of energy and alertness
*an extremely elevated mood
*a feeling of supremacy
Those symptoms only occur after I've recorded onto the blank.
Nando.
Thanks Daren. As we all know, the tape itself is average-grade for recording. I have another exclusive reel-style cassette gifted to me by Gordon of Innovative Audio on a trip he had early this year to California. I will post pictures of it later.
Nando.
Have you tried any super ferrics at all?
I have tried TDK AR and AR-X with great results, wish I had more of them. Basf Ferro Maximas are ok but have more hiss to them.
Oh yes Nando, you're so right about Vince and he's a generous friend and a genuine lover of this hobby, i do have as well from him a THATS FX and also the ECP from BASF loaded in those coloured shell which produce some very nice sounding recordings for a typeI tape![]()
Daren: I hope to institute the same level of camaraderie with mix tape exchanges here on Phoenix. I think, if you have the equipment, it's better to use it than lose it.
I am considering offering another TDK MA-R mix tape for another very proficient mix tape enthusiast on Phoenix. This has been my most productive year for mix tape exchanges, so far - I'm going to guess no fewer than twenty, thus far - maybe hit 30 by the end of the year.
I am not alone in admiring your enthusiasm and dedication Nando.
We all know how committed you have to be when embarking on projects like these. The time and effort (& postage costs) that go into producing and shipping mix tapes across the globe is not something that should be underestimated.
