That's a choice cassette I know of, Daren. I may have less than six left of Sony UX-Pro 90 cassettes for future mix tape recordings.

Thanks Doug, for scooping those sealed cassettes for me. Now, if I can get a day off so that we can meet again. You ever had your Phase Linear 400 out of your rack this long? The longer it stays with me on loan, the longer I mull over getting my own PL.

I was gonna use one of these in a 90 min version for my V.O.T.T. bonus tape but opted for a 100 min Type IV sony tape. Turns out there must be something bad with the tape as the first 20 minutes of recording is messed up. Prolly should have stuck with the UX-Pro and not the Metal SR.

Nice tape.

What is that Pioneer Elite component with the big door on the front? Its below the control/pre-amp, is it a Multi CD changer?

Ahh, I just spotted the "CD File" logo, I had a 25 disc changer which took the cds in vertically and played them this way too. It was worn out so I had to part with it (heavy commercial use from previous owner). Looked great operating with the top cover off, had a lot of fun with it.

Derek: It's a Pioneer Elite PD-F19. Load up 301 CDs into the carousel for days of music entertainment. I have a couple of more Pioneer CD changers. The PD-F19 has a rotating carousel, but the Pioneer PD-F904 has a more interesting set-up where you have four separate banks containing 25 CD slots per bank. While playing one CD from one of the banks you can still access the other three banks for changing CDs.

Pioneer made some super cool changers by the sounds of it. I shall look those up on google.

No problem. The PL400 was out of service for a couple of years after it stopped working. It sat on the shelf waiting to get repaired while I listened to a Rotel.

Thanks, Daren. I am beginning to use more TDK cassettes for recent mix tapes, including this one:

Hi Nando,

Despite reservations about the rather cheap looks, the CDing range from TDK are able performers.

A variation on the one in your photo:
