Phase Linear 4000 Series two.

I got bored one Wintry, snowy night and de-soldered all the components (many were renewed some time ago) from my PL 400-II board. Only one foil lifted but an unused hole and pad a little past the lifted foil can be used for that one device (diode). You're welcome to the board if you think it is in better shape than yours and if you're going to re-populate with new parts .... might as well consider this one.

For the two 7.5k ohm resistors (2 watt) at R101 and R404 is it ok to use wire wound resistors ?

Not really,
I very impressed w you taking the wires off! (brave) I been in the Machine Building world forever and some times you have to think outside the box.
Think I know what you mean by no wires now. Each one I have done I took the board out of the unit. Well, maybe that is not a good idea but it is the solution I have used so far. Sounds like I may well need another board before I am done @e30m3mo

You're welcome to it ... PM me where to send it and I'll include the parts off it too.
Al

To be perfectly honest it does look a lot better than mine. I will send you a PM in just a bit. Thank you Al. now that I know your name right.

R1 and R2 are 7.5k 5watt mouser Part# https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/660-MOS5C752J
R101 and r201 are 7.5k I used 3w https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/660-MOS3C752J
I use the Metal Oxide Film Resistors
the other resistors if go want go to Parts express they have a clearance sale 1/2watt and 1 watt but 5%
(10 for $1.09) I have a bunch of 1 watt still in my chart

I hope this helps

Steve, you quote this above.

The schematic I have shows R1 and R2 at 1.8K/5W and R101 and R201 at 7.5K. ? Is there something I am missing?

Might not want to take to much stock into the Drawing since they had a lot of different ones out their.
Are you using the LM351 Op-Amp? If Yes
Here is the update Service Bulletin for the LM351

Was going to run LF356N Op Amps. That is what I had on order anyhow. I wanted to replace both as well as put new sockets on. Now I don't know what resistors to use ! Looks like 7.5k ohm in both slots :)

You could also try the OPA134 DIP or you can use an adapter for a SOIC (surface mount) package, and try a very low noise OPA827 or the new OPA1655.
