ahhh....you noted that too....The Costa Rica Autoridad de Power (CRAP) just noted a huge power surge in the Guanacaste region
aka "KABOOM"
i am learning....i like fiddling with the old stuff to learn....and just to see if i can bring these back to life...its fun for me...Good Morning Gene,
Lots of Good Will here, and great people.
Sorry to hear about your setback but look at it as a blessing in disguise.
You have the tools, knowledge and support to bring that 400 to full WOPLdom !
Remember the mantra..... "Always working on making it better... "
Have a great day Gene.
8 amp and 2 5 amps...as originalWhat size fuse did you have in that amplifier?
For the PL400, because it does not have a power switch, I installed a 10 Ohm 15 Amp NTC Thermistor (MS32 10015) from the incoming AC power to the Line Fuse. It soaks up some of that turn on power or line surge until it warms up. It never gets hot to the touch, though.

I think it was Glenn who showed us a piece of fuse length and thickness solid copper wire he pulled out of a fuse holder. No more blown fuses!
that should do the trick!!!I think it was Glenn who showed us a piece of fuse length and thickness solid copper wire he pulled out of a fuse holder. No more blown fuses!
I use a distortion elimination module from K-telFuses, volume pots, meters, handles, covers, feet, bottoms, heat sinks, wires are all causing distortion. GET RID OF IT ALL
