phase linear 400

Gene, I've come to understand output depends on B+ and B- at the caps. My S1 is 80 VDC, my S2 is 82 VDC.
It really makes no difference, either would overheat and melt my JBL voice coils before they clipped and caused the dreaded distortion that kills for sure.

could a person say???
that the wopl are an honest 500 watts rms??
or is that a stretch ???
 
That's a stretch...maxed out at clipping is really not a CONTINUOUS rating...things don't last
 
A person COULD say a billion million watts...................... But, should you? Maybe if you did a 700 FULL WOPL you wouldn't have to stretch the truth. :)
 
has anyone ever changed/replaced the glass in 400 meters...my 4 fin has a predominant shadow in the center from the needle...maybe it wouldnt be so bad with untinted glass..

It is a molded plastic part Gene. And yes, the tinted meters are the worst.

Depends on the meter brand you get on your new amps.

Not many tinted lenses are out there and you just lucked into it. They were only on the 4 fin units as they were a box of chocolates.
 
For the untinted lenses, the warm white is best. Has an amber tint like incandescent bulbs do. Your 8 fin will have untinted lenses.
