tomorrow....i am pretty stressed....
however, can the amp be operated without the emitter resistors and r1 and r3....
i will make sure i can adjust the bias tomorrow....and order the transistors and whatever else you people think i need....
my new to me 77iv is shipped....
i will give the chinese one to someone i dont like...
i sure would like a recommendation on a decent analog meter....
i do like them too...

Gene. Don't forget extra fuses. This is the 77/BN I bought used. The big fuse was blown. Download your owners manual and the fuse specs and part#s will be there.

well, mr. joe certainly understands the boards....
i removed the two transistors, cutting them out and cleaning board, as instructed....
hooked up the two diodes....and guess what...
i have bias on left channel...was exactly as i set it when i removed the diodes...365mv
i dont understand what was wrong....the transistors tested good....but, evidently they are not....
maybe its the chinese meter....or my chinese brain....
anyway....i guess i will clean the back plane of the bad resistors ???
i dont think it will produce music with the bad resistors???

good morning phoenix....

Diligently working on your PL 1000-II :)

And agree on getting spare fuses ... before you need them. When I bought mine several years ago, Allied Electronics (yup ... that old company) was able to fulfill with great prices. The fuses have gotten pricey, so best to be careful!

I must be doing something wrong. I have never blown a fuse in either of my Flukes in over 20 years....................

george,
took your advice...
ordered the dsp from dayton audio...lots of sugar for a nickel...parametric eq...active xover...mixer...4x8...
and blue tooth module....has phone app and pc software...
plus connectors....i smell a rewire headed my way...maybe this week my other parts will trickle in..

Gene is going to bi-amp and tri-amp. Gonna build a WALL OF SOUND! Don't need a 700 when you have many 400s.
