Mark and Joe, do those look like they'd do the job? I know they're generally expensive but that's a good price. I'd take a gamble on a pair myself if you guys think they'd work.
They look like they will do the trick.

The Heyco ones are very heavy duty but you only need to do this once so it is better to save some $$

New Backplane kit ordered, finally pulled the trigger and looking forward to finishing this build. I will need help.

Hope I can get by "without" the pliers mentioned. Or if someone would be willing to let me pay for shipping both ways ( to borrow them ) plus a retainer until returned???

I have a Weller WTCPT says 700F hope it's hot enough. I think I can get a 800f tip

I am also looking for a decent meter, the one I have is a real cheapo from Rat shack. Didn't I remember someone saying they were selling older used fluke models for reasonable? If so email please email me. I also saw a few on Craigslist local.

Well after 6 months of the back plane kit sitting on the shelf I am going to get this thing finally built! Going to read all the directions tonight and get started in the next few days. Probably be back with a 1,000 questions
