The gain of 400s, 700s (with pots maxed), Model ONEs (also with pots maxed or bypassed) is IDENTICAL. The only difference is the max power each can produce before clipping
Isn’t the input to achieve full power the same on both the 400 and 700?

No it is not, 1V in on a 400 may hit the power supply clipping limit while the 700 still has room to move and needs 1.25V to hit clipping due to a higher voltage power supply in the 700. What is true is that up to the onset of clipping, the same input level into the 400 and 700 will produce the same power output from each amp

Thanks for straightening me out Joe. This is quite convenient for the passive bi amper
