I have a pair I bought of ebay. I have to build some cables for them. They sound great. When I was stationed in Texas I had a pair. I haven't really pushed these. I hate the little clips for the speaker wires. I have the binding post I just hate to drill into the cabinets. To put them in. I do have the 12ga speaker wire and connectors for them.

Has anyone else heard them?

I've heard of Gail,, what's up with the connectors? sounds like a funky arrangement, is it part of the design?

They use those Black and red clips. They didn't use binding posts. These will rock your world. I have them fired up. I think they will handle the PL 700B though. They are a Rock n Roll speaker to me but have a very well rounded sound.

Well my plan on this is I hope by Monday. I have things up and running. Most of my work gone. And I can hand truck the NLs to the garage they are just a bit heavy and start on them while Lee has the rest of the components. Lee you get them today I think. I will take pics. Hope I can find all the parts.

Here are the before pics of the back of the speaker and the parts I'm going to use to mod them. I will do away with everything on the back of the speaker. The switch and the CBs. When I get in the speaker I will look at the wiring. LOL

Just ordered my caps. I'm sorry I had to do the Solens. There is a light bulb in my xover. Never saw that before. I have pics. Will down load later. Gotta go to lowes. Gotta beef up the wires. Going to try and find some 12 ga silver coated OFC.

I have built many xovers. If anyone knows what the light bulb is for please tell me.

Just ordered 50 feet of silver coated OFC hook up wire.. Have to figure how to get rid of all these switches and CBs.

Light Bulb-----------current limiter, probably better than a huge inductor in that particular installation. Never seen it, interesting. CB's are after the fact devices, light bulbs limit current in a gentler way but they vary in impedance and reactance greatly with the change in temp. maybe thats supposed to be your clue when overdriving them, tweeter gets weak. It is wired in series with the tweet right??

You could build a better xover than that in your sleep couldn't you??

To many inputs to design one. I don't know the specs on the speakers. It is just a lowly 1st order with a bunch of crap that is going away. 1 inductor and 1 cap for each. Don't know the inductor size or I would change them to ribbon air core inductors. I just emailed an engineer about the light bulb.

Contact Al Klappenberger at alkeng.com. He'd be glad to size the inductors. 5-1 the engineer has the same answer??

Yes the light bulb is a current limiter. So, I guess I leave that in. The other stuff has to go. Well everything is on order, As soon as it gets here I will start. The little table in my sound room makes a nice stand. I can sit down and do my thing. LOL

Inductorors IIRC can limit current. The light bulb is not a good idea, gotta be some way around it.

Well my meter says it read impedance; but doesn't say what to set it on. LOL Have other things to do right now. All the shipping is posted and ready to go tomorrow. So that gets rid of some things. The spindle motor will be here tomorrow. Get the garage done tomorrow. Then the sound room. Then my yard work. LOL

Well I was reading about current limiters. Even amps use light bulbs. So I guess it will stay. Yes I went to the site. I found another site. To figure the inductors. Goertz is the only place making the ribbon air core inductors. I'm almost scared at what they are going to cost.
