New to me PL400

I checked your pics, yeah that's an RCA 66430, never saw one of them...

Well, that can't be good if you don't know what it is. Let me ask you this. What would you do in this situation concerning just the outputs and drivers at this point? It's not financially possible to rebuild the whole amp in one shot, so I think this and updating the board are my starting points. I already have the DC protection board which will follow when I get this sorted out. I'm up to this. I could have bought a working amp instead, but there is something about these amps that have always made me want one. Even though I had a feeling I would get kicked in the nuts when I finally got a hold of one. :violent3:

Understand that, but when it's time to White Oak, you will have a state of the art amp. Contact Joe, he might have some 410's, then get some 21196's. You can use half of those when you convert it later.

This is a good thing to get familiar with these before the White Oaking....

Thank you again. I'll contact him and see what he has. Had a feeling this was going to be an experience. I'll order the mj21196 from mouser on your suggestion and see what I can come up with for drivers.

WE'll find ya some drivers. Let me know if Joe doesn't have any...

I have some 410s, not sure how many. I think Dean/Ed has dibs on them though. Surprised you don't have a pile of them Lee

How would you test them? The ones I have came out of the gorgeous 400 I got last summer and gutted for a future WOPL

Let me know. This amp is staring at me with it's big googly meters and looks like it's crying right now. It's sad. I'm sad. Everyone is sad.:sad5:

Oh but you will have a big shit eating grin when you finally take her to max WOPL level

I did have a big pile of them and gave most of them away, to Dr. Lucitt, Joe, Jer, Ed, and some others I've forgotten...

I can't believe there is not a bunch on ePay. I thought they were fairly common but I only see two listings for a single. XPL909s seem to be scarce also. I figured other equipment must have used them???

I had bought a bunch of heatsinks that had 8 410's each. I think I wound up with just over 175. I'm down to 15 maybe....

Ron has a few he won't need let's check with him....

Ron, got 4 410's you'd sell??

I understand Bud. nd if we can't scare up any , I have some...

Actually I would just give them for the cost of shipping but I am not sure WTF I have here. Pulled them out and I see NEC 2SD555's, RCA 66546 7703s andON 70481180 BM 0033

No wonder this amp did not work...
