A big influence to me growing up in the 80’s, and a drummer since the mid 70’s.

I think he got sick when they came out with that crappy Roll The Bones lame ass rap album. He was the Professor for sure. Had front row tickets back in about 79... Wish I could remember it.

Damn! R. I. P. buddyBe sure to give Ginger Baker shit aout saying John Bonham was the best rock drummer on the planet (I agree).

I saw the 'Hemispheres' tour and went to get a beer, Neil went off on one of his tangents, I fucking fainted dead away, cracked my head opened bad, 15 stitches and some good pills. He always seemed to be more of a jazz drummer to me, did he ever ply with Brubeck or Miles Davis?

As much as I like Neil, he was never a Jazz drummer. He even took some lessons later in his career to improve his “swing”.

He taught me good composition and syncopation with other instruments. Now I tico us of feel and space. Mixing the two ideas can be fun!
