I think he got sick when they came out with that crappy Roll The Bones lame ass rap album. He was the Professor for sure. Had front row tickets back in about 79... Wish I could remember it.

I saw the 'Hemispheres' tour and went to get a beer, Neil went off on one of his tangents, I fucking fainted dead away, cracked my head opened bad, 15 stitches and some good pills. He always seemed to be more of a jazz drummer to me, did he ever ply with Brubeck or Miles Davis?

As much as I like Neil, he was never a Jazz drummer. He even took some lessons later in his career to improve his “swing”.

He taught me good composition and syncopation with other instruments. Now I tico us of feel and space. Mixing the two ideas can be fun!
