Just for haha's, could you post both results in lay man's terms Lee? Where the biggest differences are?

Congrats Mark! I will check your full vid out a little later on
The Spec 1 is a preamp, so is like comparing apples to oranges here. Maybe Spec 2?

The WOPL's have better SNR, Crosstalk, and phaselag/lead specs. The Spec 1 did have better distortion and residual noise specs.

And Scott, agreed that comparing a pre-amp to an amp is like apples and oranges, but an amp is only as good as it's inputs, that was my point.....

Do all WOPL's have similar specs? I know you have tested a bunch of them on your analyzer. What are some of the generally published specs that could be used to compare with some of the "big name" amps? Are the figures from a FC WOPL better than the QC version? I know the sound of any WOPL will blow most anything out of the water, but how do the numbers compare with the likes of a Bryston, or some other high end consumer amps? I know you had a 4B in the house and ended up getting rid of her (as I did mine).

Just wondered.....

How much can be wrong with those things Joe?? Not a bad price...
Nothing wrong with them as far as I can tell Lee. The Acurus comes as close to perfect as any preamp I have used. No frills but does the basics really well and is built like a tank.

I guess to sum it up, I really like straight source to power amp connection for sound quality. But it is inconvenient. This preamp comes as close to the straight connect ideal for me while providing the conveniences we want.

Nada...high level input only. If you want phono, separate phono amp stage is required and put it through the aux input.

I like the Shure phono stage for that. Also built like a tank.

So, is the IC the remote volume driver?

Yes it is the IR receiver and decoder to drive the motors on the volume and balance pots. That is it for the remote on the RL11. No other functionality.

The LS11 is naked in that section of the board.
