Lee, Have you ever seen such nonsense? Supposed to keep the temperature difference between the devices more consistent when one is closer to a source of heat than the other.

I apprecate the thought behind it, but they occupy pretty much the same space and therefore the same temperature. Closely matched does it matter anyway. With the poor-boy method this latest set of TIS-97's resulted in a -1mv, and a plius 6 on the other. Pretty damn good for DC offset.

OTOH--- some progress...

I'd take a total of 7mv difference any day, especially that close to zero. There might be 2-3mv lurking in my test leads...

Hoping those are TIS97s in that picture. If they are MPSA18s, they are in backwards.

The AC today is so much more intrusive than it was back in 1973, all noisy and such. Heck, back in my day the AC barely even tickled you, if'n you got acrost it. And it wasn't so gosh darn stubborn, some days it was 58Hz, other days it was 63Hz, so much more freedom to just be, well, free.
