The one that gets hotter, is it running the sub?
Planars are the way to go and I think they are in demand now...people realize how nicw they sound.
I recently had to replace a planar tweeter in my maggies, exchange was 170.00, no exchange was 741.00....but the tweeters 5-1/2 feet, u use PE for you drivers?
 
Sutton, The lower the speaker ohms are the hotter the amp will run, also check your bias
 
John, I see you have a hard time putting the covers back on too!! Yes those are the Antique Electronics knobs.

Yes Sutton, they get better and better because Joe keeps coming up with more stuff to do. Having world class test equipment does help, but it can't think and it can't solder.
 
Yeh Lee couldnt find the time to put back together, been listening to it all the time and to disconnect it means I have to put something else there in the meamtime and i'm not ready yet....LOL
You should post the part number for knobs in the tips section for everyone..I forgot it already, know its P-Tsomething....
tried those lights but the meter is blacked out internally at top and sides so light does shine through.
Hows kev's amp, did you break in the trannies....givem a nice beating did ya?? lol
 
In the process of doimng that now. Sounding REALLY good from idle through Mach 8.
 
Well.... How many hours does it have on it now ? Are ya plum happy with it ????
 
12 hours so far Kev, and 22 idliong. No reason to be scared of 1KW of clean White Oak power, it can only make the smile wider and more sincere. I've had my major F*&%^%$$ on this one already so no worries Kev, it's good to go. And it is a beauty, one of the most cherry to go through here.

And yes, i'm plum tickled with it!!

OMG... LOVE THE PICTURE !!! We are hudge dog lovers here !!!!! We have three Bichons in the house and two more mix breeds outside.... Four of our dogs are rescue dogs.... Lee.... The thing is a beauty... I know you worked your ass off on it.. I thank you VERY much for that !!!! I will own and love it for life man.... Can not wait to get it on these speakers I got..... They NEED it !!!!

how do the specs look now, did you do anymore tests?
what makes it a 1000? joes board?
 
Yeah, Joe's board has a little more gain, the newer outputs and maybe better regulated AC mains than 50 years ago. And a hot transformer.
