So... are all Series I 700's incompatible with the new back planes, or just earlier versions?
John

Hey John,
From what I understand all of the "Series I" 700's have the same output transistor configuration. The hole pattern is different than the 700B's and the Series II - hence the incompatibility. Maybe we can all gang up on Joe to do a new layout that would make his backplane boards work with the early PL 700's.
You've been a member since 2012? Damn - I guess you need a Nav welcome babe!
Not quite correct. Series 1 is the original 700's and 700B's. These two have differing transistor patterns and the backplane kits only work with the 700B's. Series II has the same transistor pattern as 700B's and the backplane kits will work with these as well. So for 400's and 700's, the odd man out is the original series I. All others will work with the backplane boards. Correct me if I've erred in this Joe/Lee.
