Just received a WOPL 700 II from Lee in a cabbage box!

I very seldom listen at loud levels. When I listen at anything above probably 79-80dB it hurts my ears and I do not enjoy it. I have always liked the Idea of having way more power than needed/required for a set of speakers though. The E III's I am listening to right now with this amplifier are rated at 91dB sensitivity and 150 max watts per. The amplifier is unaware that they exist. The speakers preform marvelously!

@VSAT88: That's a fine-looking system you've got assembled. You may spend much more time revisiting old records/CD, etc. you hadn't heard for awhile just to get acquainted with your new WOPL amp. There is a sweet spot for listening - not too loud, not too quiet - just right. That sounds like a famous fairy tale, but very appropiate.

Always - the generosity of members makes someone's life a little brighter.

Nando.

@Elite-ist Nando! Thanks. Coming from you that is one hell of a compliment. Actually, that stuff mostly is just sitting there. Its in "The Office" so I am always swapping in and out of that rack. Of course that is easy to see by all the chipped wood. Right now I am not using the tube amp up top or the CJ pre. The CJ MV75 A1 that usually sits up top took a dive on me the other day so I swapped in the Jolida and never snatched the pre amp out. May hook it up to the WOPL and just see what it sounds like. I have always liked that Forte F 44 preamp/line stage whatever you call it. It sounds as nice as any pre I ever had. If anyone here can pick up one cheap I would definitely try it out. And yes, I have found the members of this site to be incredibly generous.

I just let Kevin take his CJ MV75 home after I had it since our last gig here. With the cooler weather, I’ll put my tube Amos back in service. The preamp already has tubes. And I came here to get a PL years ago but was a number off of winning that 400, darn.

Kevin has a lot of gear that Bob Carver had a hand in making so maybe I’ll hear some one day. Or get Thain to drag his ugly, beat up, 700II over to a gig one day. Not WOPL but refreshed to working properly. Kevin’s gear would be, too.
