Hey I found a guy who will wind toros and regular trannys. I had his website. I contacted him yesterday. I hate winding them. The wire is so small you can barely see it and will be winding a broken wire and not even know for a bit. You must keep an even and steady pressure while you are winding. Don't miss count. LOL

Larry

No Larrt, got em spec'd and ready to orderr for the x'ers.

220 watt, 30-0-30 volt I think it was, And yeah it was a minimum 50 order.

Got the spec's and construction detail somewherte in the computer. Give me a few and i'll flush it out.

Lee found those transistors 2n5088 for .38cents at mouser. what would be the best way to mount then the the heatsinks? Can't find the clamps like the 700's..
Those heatsinks you have are to-92 do they fit the to-3's?

If you have any old 2N3403' or 4's punch out the old ones and slide the 5088's in and vise grip the clamp shut and add a dollop of epoxy on the top to hold em and your done. If you don't have any I have a few and getting a bunch in the future, how many ya need??

The actual form designation of the bias trannies are TO-92HS.

I don't have any of the old holders for the transistors, I only have one PL and I didn't have to change the bias transistors they were ok. If you have a place to get them let me know, don't want to take from your stock...How many to-3's does your heat sink hold and what is the length of it?

What are those tranny spec's for a low wattage PL? Came across a PL300 schematic...

These hold ten John. I have stock so I CAN run out of it. Constantly getting more, it's what I do. The TO-3's in the sinks are 2N5039's with RCA-410's as outputs, would push a 300 just fine. Although the 300 has some idiosyncrasies, they can be dealt with. Ed says possibly the worst amp PL ever built.

Awesome Lee, can I buy 2 of those heatsinks from you?
I'm going to call for the transformer tomorrow, and then I'll get Alex to send me couple adcom caps.
When I get the heatsinks I can start on the chassis...whats your opinion on the chassis? Should I do steel, aluminum or wood?[attachment=0:ichrsler]chassis.gif[/attachment:ichrsler]
