That sounds like a big job. It's cool to get a bit more insight on the workings of the oil industry. I have a few family members working in this industry so the gouge you give us provides for great reading.

That looks wholly unnatural seeing an HH Scott badge on something that has no glass inside it. I know they made them, but it seems wrong.

My brother-in-law works in a facility that monitors a couple of off shore rigs and the on shore collection area where the oil is pumped. One of his main functions is to monitor the status of the end to end setup. It's pretty cool to see the graphics that depict the system. The display seemed to be a cross between a schematic and a mechanical drawing. When something is out of tolerance he will either lead a team to get it fixed or call out to get someone on the issue.

My nephew works on one of the off shore rigs. One week on and one week off. I'm not really sure what he does but the rig is manned 24 hours a day.

My great uncle worked the rigs in the Santa Maria area - Union Oil. He was a jack of all trades but mainly maintenance. He recently retired.

Sir Joe, attached is a schematic for the Alpha 6 amp. C7 calls for a 220uf@6 volts. The board itself has a 250uf 6 volt cap. I don't have any 250's. Why do you suppose they changed it and can I use a 220??

Jeez, tak about dense, was studying the schemo and noticed a cap labeled 5 NP......scratched the ol head for awhile....5uf NON-POLAR.....board had a 4.7 NP....pulled this one outta my ass. Had some 4.7 NP's left from some Spec 1 projects...

Yes you can use a 220uF Lee. It will have a minor effect on low frequency roll off point.

Either will work fine Lee...the current -3dB point is down below 1Hz anyway so messing around with this won't make any audible difference.
