Jer's 400 PLWO Thread

DCP "almost" populated (dagnabit, forgot the phoenix connectors - on order... grrr)

The "veterans" out there may notice a couple of things. The caps are still .1 100v's, and those are what were called for on Don's BOM - I didn't want to re-use what was on the chassis just in case. Also note the resistors - these are non-inductive and at 4.7 ohms slightly lower, but I recall Don or someone saying that should still be "ok". We'll know when it comes time...

And THEN... after the EPIC battle of the century with frozen screws, beetchin' bridge rectifiers and cap clamps... I'm done for the night!

.1 is the factory value too Jer. On the 400 board Don found it acting strangely on anything under 5 ohms. Ya gotta be over 5 Jer.

Did you have anything more for Zoebel resistors??

Yep, I still have the originals I can dig out and re-use, but for kicks I'm going to try seeing how these do. Remember too that the 5 ohmers that are on Don's BOM are wirewound, and carry some inductance with them - these 4.7's are strictly MOS.

Ok, seems Don tried non-inductive 4.7 ohmers also. Looking forward to seeing how it responds.

Sidenote to Ron.. whoa... all of the old drivers and the majority of the outputs were kaputz! Either blown open junctions or dead short!

Wonderful... but great job so far, you seem to be flying through this. I am seriously impressed by your know how!

Damn IT JER !!!! Knew I forgot something!!!! A BABB!!!!

New caps are in with new fuse holders, and that'll complete the "power" portion...

Do I "dare" see what kind of rail voltages we'll have???? (gotum rail fuses pulled.. obviously... )

Well ????? Let's see it!!!

lol

After putting the RCA's back in and rewiring them with shielded cables, I've been sitting here for a good half an hour just lookin' at it...

Getting late tonight, so tomorrow we'll put in the WO board and hope for the best. Question tho... how ya mount those fancy new bias trannies that have the wires enclosed? (memory fails me on who did that? NICE job there!)

Aye, tomorrow night... we shall see!
