Jer, the BR was showing 0 ohms between the + and an AC leg, sure makes the variac BUZZZZZ@!

I really need to invest in a decent solder vacuum setup... Those radio shack jobbies with the bulb on 'em work for a lil bit, but then the tip goes to crap.

Bought it at a hospital surplus sale, the tip is your basic air nozzle turned backwards so pushing the button makes it suck. Total investment........12.00, holds 18" vacuum at this altitude. Most components drop from the board before you can get it turned over.

Variac and DBT, even after "just replacing the BR" I never fire one without it. i have learned that lesson.
