It you're on TH too...

Thanks for the ad, Ben. Perhaps, I will talk to Gordon this week about it. Sometimes, he has components in the back stock room that are awaiting repairs. But, if he had a PL 7000 deck, I'm sure he would have told me.

Nando.

I just notified Jbeckva maybe he can fix it. If he can I will try to get it or you can try. As you know I wouldn't bid against you.

I won't be bidding on it, but I will watch the auction. This auction could run up into the $400+ range.

I don't think so. The Deck is in sad shape and we don't know about the condition of the heads. If the tape doesn't advance it could be the belts or something simple. The motors could be shot but who knows? I think if Gordon can fix it you can take a shot at it.Otherwise I will wait for Jbeckva to answer. He is a big Phase Linear Fan.

I understand. I thought of you as I know that you are big on Phase Linear, but mostly Amps and PreAmps. I will ask Perry or Nakdok if I win it. But Nando says it will probably go for $400 or more. In that case I won't bid when it goes over $200.It is in sad Shape. Regards,Ben

You are right once again. The last time I looked it was $394 and it will surely break $400.

@nando When I asked Doity if he double boxed the Pioneer as I repeatedly requested and I paid another $60 for the Doubleboxing and adding padding. This is his reply"My intention was to have Kinko's double box it. I bought the supplies on my side of town and boxed it myself. But when I got to Kinko's to ship I found out it was $46 and I had already spent $20 on the packaging.

It should be OK without double-boxed but you will have to wait to you recieve it I guess. I used the whole roll of bubble wrap and put cardboard between the outer box and the deck so it should be cushioned enough. As long as it is not dropped or kicked excessively it should be fine." I paid another $20 to express mail his money order to him so he would have it right away. All he had to do was ask me for more money and I would have disbursed it to him.

I use 1" hard Styrofoam to pack something like a cassette deck. There are tutorials on TH on how to properly pack a component for shipping.

When you say great deal, I know you are joking. The guy selling this thing can't even spell, the door on it is crooked when shut, he is also careful about getting too close to the heads, no zoom or large photo feature either. I wouldn't touch it for that price.

I had no idea they were pioneer decks.
Yes I was joking. This is another Seller that wants to make a mint on this deck. I sent it to Nando because it is a Pioneer really in disguise. It is similar to the CTF-1250 but is made by Phase Linear. Nando likes this deck.At one time Phase Linear was owned by Pioneer and then they sold it to Jensen.

Which ended up mostly being part of AUDIOVOX after the failure of RECOTON...

My Lord How things have changed.I remember when Pioneer showed up at a HiFi show in Philadelphia. They showed a Receiver back then that you could look in some lens and see and determine weather it was Stereo or Mono. I laughed my ass off at their antics. It was a real receiver but I couldn't keep a straight face. Luke came through for me .The deck is SPECTACULAR!!!!! I love it. I just got done putting it through its paces. It is great and looks brand NEW!I will give him a complement on TH.I really remember the salesmen for Stereo Review trying to sell the magazine at the show. I was a fresh kid back then and told them that most of their articles were hokum and the manufacturers owned them. I was right but it was the wrong place to do that! Everything they reviewed was just wonderful and a harbinger of a new age! They were so full of it!

I just gave Doity a RAVE review on TH Classified per Nando's advice. I stated he was honest forthright and had lots of integrity. This guy means what he says and SAYS WHAT HE MEANS!

So Ben, we'll be looking forward to hearing more of your experiences with your Pioneer CT-F1250 in the Tape Deck section when you can. I may have to put mine back in action, soon. I haven't done a mix tape on it for some time.

Nando.

Well you have that very rare Esoteric which must be a work horse for you. That is a hard deck to find ,extremely rare.

It looks like my task is finally accomplished in that respect.
