What are you guys doing with, and what are Brown Dogs? I think I have seen a picture, but I don't know what they are for?

Looks like Mouser got the 96 outputs in and have shiped them to me, and I have sent a PayPal to Don for a DCP, ad will send one to Joe toady for the PCB, an LED board and some other stuff. Maybe everythin will arrive about the same time and we can get this baby up and running...

The bromn dog adapters convert the RC4136 op-amp used in ealy Phase stuff to a modern quad op-amp sub, usuaaly with Burr-Brown OPA 2134's as subs.

No, she doesn't know aout them. I would be in deep do-do. Very deep, over my head, dwowning in it do-do. But in all fairness, I did this with Fisher tube gear, then with Hafler gear, and now with Phase Linear stuff. I probably could provide the amplification for a Pro Football Stadium. The other thing is, all the gear I have bought, with the possible exception of Hafler, has doubled or tripled in price since I bought it. Fisher SA-1000 amps were going for about $1,200.00 when I bought mine about 5 years ago. Now you're looking at about $4,000.00, if you can find one, Fisher 400's could be bought for a little over $100.00.

Hafller P-220's could be bought for around $100.00. Now they are selling for a little more, but not much.

Tubes are going through the roof. You could buya Fisher full of Telefunkens (say a 500 receiver). Now the 12AX7 is selling for $50.00 or more EACH.. Unbelievable..

I think Phase Linears will do the same thing. I've already seen 700B's go from $350.00 to $1,000.00 in the last year alone.

The amps are investments honey... Yeah, that would work.....NOT

You could tell her that you are creating a shortage of Phase Linears to drive the price of them up

The resistors on the back side of the meter board are all fried. Don't know what this might be from, or if it relates to another problem elsewhere in the amp, but they are all black and fried. I have not, nor will I, put power to this amp until the meter board and the PCB and maybe the DCP are replaced first.

Anyone ever seen this row of resistors all cooked before? I think there are three, all in a row on one side of the meter board. (there are two smaller ones near this row which do not appear to be burned..)There are none on the oppostie side of the board...

I'll try to get a picture if anyone is interested.
