tHE FANS ARE IN THE REAR...i WILL BE USING TWO 20" lASCO FANS IN ADDITION TO THE TWO YOU BUILT LEE. I want to make sure there is enough air moving behind there, although Kevin keeps his 400 on with no need for a fan most of the time..

I've also got to fine tune my usage of the amps. Unless I bi-amp the fronts and rears, I have too much amp, or more likely, too few speakers..

I agree Sutton, too few speakers. Kevin, the fans are 8-10 bucks each, then some 1" X 1" aluminmum angle and some 3/4" X 3/4" aluminum angle both 1/16 inch thick stuff. Hell, pull one and copy it. they take about three hours to make, probably less now.

Got some electronic crossovers Sutton??

If Sutton puts the speakers behind all those amps, he will generate enough air movement from the speakers to keep the amps cool :)

I think they call that a "Feedback" scenario. More power, more cooling--more power, more cooling.......

Probably not as good as the 5 steel balls suspended in a fixture that sat on a lot of coffee tables.

Can someone tell me the part number(s) for the speaker terminals in a PL 400. The ones that Don's DCP relay sits on?. I have the protection circuit, and thought I could re-use the terminals...but I dont' have a "super sucker" and can't get all the solder off the original posts... I am hoping they are a Mouser part....or an MCM part...as I need to order stuff from both of them anyway..
Thanks in advance...

While I'm at it, does anyone have a BOM for a 700B? Yeah, 450 was too hard to resist......It was me...

Sutton, he supplies them in his kit and I did not send them. I put them in a big "Really Useful Box'" when I get them and just plain forgot about em. They'll be in the mail in the morning.

BOM for Joe's board??

Thanks Lee...I thought I could clean the solder from the origanals, but I just can't get enough of it off to make them work. I'm really sorry to bother you with this, especially after reading that you feel so bad.

As for the BOM, I guess I'm trying to put together a list of everything neededfor a 700B rebuild, from the driver and output transistors, caps, DCP, BR, bypass caps, led board and just anything I might need. I now realize that between Joe and Don, most of that is covered...so I'm looking for recommendations. The storage caps are now unobtanium, ApexJr. sold the last ones he had. This may end up like my two previous 400 rebuild attempts....in Mark's hands to finish, and to calibrate...but I want to give it a try..

The caps will be in the same box as the speaker posts Sutton, so that's covered. You want MJ 15024's as drivers, MJ21196's as outputs.

The Phas Linear WOPL 555 WORKS! I just plugged in a preamp with ONIX source, and some DIY speakers, and with only the drivers installed.held my breath.....and music.....SHE WORKS !!!!HOOOORRRAAAAHH !!!! THANKS TO MARK< LEE< SKRATCH JOE and everyone who helped me. On the third attempt, we have the sweet taste of success. Now I gotta set all the ajustments and add the outputs, and hopefully everythin from this point will happen with no problems...

Oh, there will be problems. You are not immune, just like Lee and Mark and Kevin and me, none of us have had a perfect install, there are gremlins everywhere. Just when you think you are home free...
