Looks like it's going to skirt the Ida-nistas and cross the border.

My question is? if you cannot get online how are you posting here? How many computers do you have? and how many do you need?

Maybe you should put all your computer eggs into one basket so you will have a good working computer that you can get online with. :)

Re: HP - 20" Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD Monitor

The board could be cracked I put my foot down when I sat down earlier and I had to restart. Went and made dinner. Whatever it is I'm going to dodge it at random. Makes conversation like wondering where the lions are.

Grrrrrr

The Dell Inspiron 1000 Laptop Lee sent some time back and the EVo D51C? is fine but has no internet connection and it's sat for a long time. I was supposed to over the mdf/d?n page on setting up W2K2003 server as a workstation. It's not hooked to anything and I was trying to figure why the primary drive 1 wasn't registering, change settings when all this crap started.

I've had the Dell down like that for a day or more or I got it right back after cold shutdown (forced power switch). I can't burn a DVD so I'm trying to archive all I can.

I posted before I saw your moving notice.

I don't know if it's move or what I did. I finally sold the MCS turntable I spoke of and got food for the other $15 and am on the case of someone I've known since 1985 who can't seem to do what he promised for a few days every time he finds a girlfriend (or drugs sometimes). I'm not Cinderella or Dog the bounty hunter. It was too windy (20-35) to get on the bike and chasedown everything and I've run myself stupid tired for day picking up and setting up (and not all night).

I'm posting to hold this. Back,,,

Well, I've knocked it out a few times vibrating it or nudging and I had wanted to post in Chez Bezel but I have to find the USB floppy drive I put aside to transfer photos from the Mavica. I've got a few things to do and I'm not staying up late.

Well I accidentally knocked a medium sized Pyrex saucepan and china plate to the floor headed to bed and after clearing that and sweeping as much of the kitchen as I could and with vigor andbefore I locked the two sheds I moved the temporary boxes of picked over and well packed boxes and bike parts that were then stored and threw a blanket and a tarp over that...the new shed is now full.

I haven't found the USB floppy drive yet, picturea muat wait,

I did print off the web pages Jerry said to. This thing is still finicky and I can't cure that right now.

I have to clear the bed I was sorting on and NOW sleep.

Aiiiiight Steven-dude... I will see 'bout calling ya this weekend (man, by the time I settle in during the week it's like 9:30ish and the last thing I wanna do is talk on the phone).

BUT

Why don't you tell me about the EVO... What's WRONG? Screen shot.. error message.. ya gotta give me something here..

oh and btw.. go to a command prompt.. type in errr...

netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

Generally if ya afu'd the network, that'll get you back to something manageable...

I will try that but ipconfig does not work. I can see data in the window but it closes almost instantaneously. In my memory this tends to mean I need to make setting from within Control Panel first-network Connextions or something.

PS bold deep red does not read well for you and Lee. Ccan you either kill the bold, change the color ti orange or a medium blue or BOTH?

AND ONLINE!

It was checking auto DNS and IP that did it.

Well sorta.. he's online but I missed that lil tip about how the money-hungry AV companies make ya buy "server level" antivirus for "server level" operating systems. What a crock... XP is to 2003 what Vista is to 2008 SP1, and what Win7 is to Server 2008 R2 - just different features, limits, and probably a so called "missing optimization" here and there.

Still looking for an alternative, but not much luck. I do think tho that those sealed XP deals on ebay would be ok. A lot of corps when they get a new rollout of updated workstations will not even bother with the preinstalled OS and reroll with their own operating system images, so they "discard" the unactivated OEM disks and keys.

Crap, you mean I am putting together this Dell desktop computer for Steven and he doesn't even need it? It has a newly installed Oem XP OS system and I made a hose proof slip streamed SP3 installation disc with drivers. You can have your puter factory fresh in half an hour. :cyclops:

I still need to activate the OS and add a few software titles, such as browsers, Anti-Virus etc, yada. yada, yada. And if Lee gets off his wet noodle I have a nice LCD monitor to send to you too.

John, the goal wato to have the living room unit and something in the cabinet I built from a 3 dollar dresser to put rh Zenith Pro 880 CRT projector on to serve as a media server/computer computer. I have ~209 GB and more 20-80 GB HDs. I have 3 projectors and two Extron VGA converters...I hope that will let me store AV media to project.

That's my disease. Another SX-D7000 will be here today and it was $99 plus shipping. I wanted a second for my 46th birthday June 26 to go with my newly repaired PL-610.
