So, I'm close to pulling the trigger on a Kramer balanced audio/video switching box. My plan is to use it to switch tape to tape, masterlink to either tape, masterlink to both tapes etc.
One I'm looking at now also had video switching, which I didn't think I had any use for... But then I thought perhaps the video lines could be used for digital (coax) switching. Any digital audio and/or video switching techs here with any input on this scheme?
Assuming it worked, I could have one unit which would switch the balanced analogue audio around as well as being able to switch the digital coax around. Video lines are BNC connectors. I believe there is enough bandwidth in the video lines to accommodate digital audio. It would predominantly be 16.1/44 anyway.
