Just a quick note to say hello.

Elite-Ist mentioned this forum so I thought I’d pop in and have a look around.

Thanks for having me!

Nice to have you join up, Jim. Unfortunately, I didn't warn Jim of what to expect. But, I can, now. It's like having dysfunctional family members over for Christmas dinner.

Oh great! When you look up “dysfunctional family” on Wikipedia, you’ll see us smiling back!

Actually, just me.

And I’m not smiling.

The system now, is the first time bass drum has been convincingly reproduced. Not because it goes super low, but because they are super accurate. They are fed by a pair of SA-220 amps so they still have headroom beyond my threshold of pain. Normal levels are just stunning. I’m looking forward to getting the rig up and running again. The little man liked the knobs of my CD duplicator so much, he just had to remove them.

Welcome to Phoenix Jim, take everyone with a grain of salt around here and you’ll be fine!

I see an Aragon in your system, preamp?

Plenty of salt. I have a high-sodium diet.

I have the Aragon D2A and 47k. Preamp is a Perreaux SM6, which I forgot to list... I’ll get that sorted.

Jim and I have exchanged a few mix tapes between us. His latest project, "Ladies Night," is one I have been playing frequently since getting it.

Well thank you all for the warm welcome.

And remember: if you need to know any sort of deep esoteric detail of cassette recording and playback, I’m probably NOT the right guy to ask.

It just smells good when you open a new one, and it's a simple addiction. Nobody I know died from it yet.

Nobody I know here is esoteric either :D
