Larry: I always clean each side of my LPs with a spray solution before playing it. Then I follow up with my Pro-ject anti-static record cleaner brush for a few passes.

I've heard the dust cover can induce static electricity, and some people prefer to play their records with the turntable's dust cover off.

My Pickering cartridge also has an integral brush.

I have the audioquest version of that brush and I use before every play. If I have already cleaned the record, I keep it sleeved and just use the brush when I take em out again. If I get a machine I'll likely use once on each record and on later vinyl purchases, but highly unlikely again. Maybe way down the road I dunno.

I still use the D4 setup. I have a brush also. I have a few different things. Depends on my mood. The sit and spin gets monotonous after a couple of hours. LOL

I like the older original D4. The new brushes aren't the same, more like leftover corduroy and I don't like em much at all. Might be fine for relatively clean albums.

I don't have any really dirty LPs. In North Texas you had to clean them every time. Dust storm were bad for vinyl. LOL You could have every thing closed up and you still got dust all through the house. Nothing but dust storms and cotton fields. LOL

Ooops, I just bought a new George Thorogood and the Destroyers record at London Drugs - "2120 South Michigan Ave.."

A new box set came in, but it's about $65. It's Led Zeppelin's "Mothership." As well, I picked up another six used, but excellent condition LPs in Squamish. The double albums were 2 for $5, and the singles were $1 each.

I love the deals! I pay about $10 on average for used around here. But I love to find the $1-$2 deals at goodwill/savers but it's slim pickings. Occasional yard sale.

I like David Bromberg quite a bit, a bit corny but really fun music. The unpopular stuff is usually in nice shape lol.

I will be keeping an eye peeled for David Bromberg music. Thanks for alerting me to him, Joe. I am amazed at how many excellent bands he has played with.

The two double-albums I picked up were classic rock/blues I had on cassette, but didn't have on vinyl. I'm sure most rock/blue lovers have these:

Steely Dan: greatest hits
Eric Clapton: Just One Night

One of my coveted albums is a Japanese pressing of "Talking Heads:77." Probably worth over $100, if you were to find one.

I just bought a bunch of LP's at a local store for 75 cents each. Some are in pretty fair shape, some not. I've go to clean them all with my Spin Cean. Best way to clean them that I have found. It's just so manual...but for under 10 bucks, hey...some pretty cool stuff in these..
