I drilled them out and tapped them for 1/4-20

I'm meeting with my Aluminum Casting dude on Monday. 700B Handles on the horizon. I'm going to have him put dimples where the bolts would go and they will be drilled at 4" or 102mm so they will be able to fit either 700 II or 700B.... We aint gonna fuck around. I have had many ask for the 700B handles on a Series II. I think they will looks awesome on a 700 II
Have you quoted Cattail Foundry before you plunk down his tooling charge?

No Joe but I will. This guy I got is making a mold (several) for investment (LOST WAX) casting so I save by not having to pay for a 3D scan. One place wanted a minimum of 2000 pieces.... Damn....

I don't like a company that wont do business on the internet. I don't like phones or writing letters. I'm left-handed and my writing sux... I even quit writing Santa since he wouldn't start a real website.

Well, 2 steps forward...... I'll have the CAD 3D files and an adjusted diameter model in hand next week. After searching and whining, I found a reasonable CAD designer to do the modeling which includes increasing the diameter of the legs so it would completely cover the faceplate holes on the 700 Clair Series II's. So it will fit the 700B and now the 700 Clair II. The owners who like the 700B style handles and 700B owners with beat up/missing handles will now have an option to purchase NEW original style 700B handles. If anybody bought 400 faceplates with no holes drilled should also be able to use them. When the Clair 700 II's were spec'd out, they used the original spacing of a 700B handle so the Clair owner will be able to use them also. The diameter of the original 700B handle was not wide enough to cover the 5/16ths faceplate holes so there was a tiny gap in spots where the handle met the faceplate.... Well, no more.... I had my designer increase the base diameter so as to cover the larger faceplate holes. It was either that, or design a ferrule for use with the 700B handle to hide the gaps. It was just enough, but not enough to where it changes the profile of those beautiful handles.

I'm working on a drilling jig so when somebody orders a set of handles, I can drill and tap them to suit their application. I'll probably offer powder coating/Painting also. I'm gonna have my plate full as my company I worked for until Feb of this year has offered me a position here on base. Shit, Just when I was starting to enjoy being a bum... I mean, being retired.

OH, and these should fit any of the 4" spacing handled equipment such as the 4000 etc..... Crazy, 700B styled handles on a 4000..............

Pretty much will work on all 4" spaced units. I didn't have/don't have a 400 for measurement so I defer to the 400 guru's.

since I had inquiries about the 3.75" Phase Linear 400 handles (smaller version of the 700B handles), I have my CAD designer working on the model for me. Looks like I may do them also. I think the 400 series II's have stupid long handles so I won't be doing those (correct me if I'm wrong). so the 4" and the 3.75" will be coming to fruition in the near future. Shit, I better get a job......

almost there................................ Sorry, can't blow it up bigger. Dude had a hell of a time. Seems that the original handles were not concentric and a 3D scan would have been pointless. So, it's a whole new hand-Job.....
