It takes too much power to power the tubes :) Would be an EPA Energy Star violation.

I think those big radial engines violate CAFE standards anyway. Probably emissions as well, they still run leaded fuel on the piston motors.

This baby only fly's on 110 av gas with extra lead. My bother in law said that gas is special order only and costs mega dollars. The engines were increased from the 2200 hp to 2500 hp and are in need of that octane

Let's hijack this thread again

Started to assemble the new rev B backplates tonight. They are realy cool.

so here is a twist

Some may think I am crazy, no names mentioned right Joe, as I will build an upside down unit.
the control board and back plates will be inverted top to bottom. The power will run straight down the bottom from the fuse. I put in a SCHURTER Conn AC 3Pin power plug in my old parts chassis.
Also I moved the fuse to the old power cable hole. I had drill new holes for the temp switches, a few other holes and sloted the outer pairs of pin holes for the transistors in the top and bottom of each row to aline with the pin holes. All done now. This is the chassis which is now left over from my build using Joe's new chassis, don't worry I am not touching that one. To bad Ebay, I guess it will not make to the auction block. It's going to be cool.

So now there will be no Ac near the low voltage control wires., not that there is a problem with the original top run ac with the back plate builds.

Had a few minutes today so had to deal with power inlet in my series ll original chassis. The plan I had failed. So I put in the plug.

Reworked the fuse block

It looks like Joe made the most of the space available, as usual...
This is an old chassis build. Joe's has a lot more room.
here are the two to compare, first is the new one from Joe new supply and the second is original series ll chassis with the plug I cut and fitted into the old chassis.

Lee I saw where you put the power plug in the fan plug area in past but I wanted to get the plug in the bottom area

Well we are back home from Mexico
it was very interesting as we were it the outbacks and some inland villages not often traveled by non Mexican touristo's. We were very changed in our views of the places we visited, all for the better.

anyway I got a nice package of stuff from Lee and will hopefully get on with the job to finish this one on the weekend
envelope in the mail tomorrow Lee

here is my brothers pool, not bad if I say so myself
