Can you get a better photo of the wiring in the area of the phono jack inputs please?
 
Backplane and control board kits just got here from Joe....
 
On it buddy!! got the nylon washers and proper screws done on chassis have all those little solder cups set and taped on each board locked the shop door and put a sign out "gone fishing" got my ice coffee mug gonna load up some skynard crank it up so the soldering will begin

Get the soldering iron fired up Brother!!!
 
OK started building the backplane boards... First I want to say I am impressed big time with the quality of the parts and the boards in these kits. I have worked for several companies as a line solderer and have seen some real junk used in their products not so the case here first rate all the way. Joe has provided us with the best of everything for this build.

I got the transistor pocket sockets in all went real well I also gt the stand offs soldered in they looked fine in the shop but after I got scrubbed and cleaned up I noticed 2 on one board are not completely flat and 1 on the other same deal they are not off by a lot but they are not perfect. I'm thinking this is not to big of a deal tomorrow I will reflow those and get them down flat. The caption tape on the stand off did not survive my vigorous scrubbing, this is not to big a deal as well I have a roll of caption tape in the shop and I can cut little squares to put over the openings. I don't usually splatter solder around when I solder but I guess better safe than sorry. After I get the stand offs fixed tomorrow I will start populating the boards.

I will get some pics tomorrow but my 20 year old camera struggles to get sharp focus......
 
So this is where I am at gonna start the wiring but don't know if anything is different for the protection board gotta look to see if he sent me docs also for Q6... will I use the upper or lower holes??

Your kit came with 2N5088 bias trannies, use the 2N5088 holes, not the 3403 holes. And yes you will need to add about 5" of #20 wire soldered to the B+ feed on the upper right corner of the right backplane for the B+ feed for the DCP....

No, just one #20 wire on the upper right B+ feed on the right backplane......the DCP requires one AC feed and one DC feed.....
 
And don't forget the red, black, and brown #24's for the Q6 to control board connection....
 
So a 5" wire on the right board upper right fused B+ out correct,any special color you use for this??
On the left board just want to get straight... fused B+ in to B+ fuse shell
fused B- in to B- fuse shell
unfused B+ to B+ fuse tip
unfused B- to B- fuse tip
OK so I assume the fuse shell and tips here are the fuse holders right and the shell would be side lug and of course tip on end of holder right?
Which fuse holder or holders am I using for these?


No, just one #20 wire on the upper right B+ feed on the right backplane......the DCP requires one AC feed and one DC feed.....
 
Correct on the shells and tips of fuses. Wire according to Joe's assembly instructions. When doing that, there is NO connection to the upper right B+ pad, the upper B+ pad is used for the DC feed on the DCP....

The one nearest the heatsinks is B+, the middle one is B- and the one near the edge of the chassis is AC Mains. The label on the heatsink then matches and your wire lengths will work out properly then.
