LMAO. Too funny guys.
Im sure anybody that has been paying attention around here would love to own that amp. I would gladly ditch the Crown if that was showing up at my door.....
You never know Ben - it might just compete with your Bose amps. Maybe you drink some Crown if it made it your way!![]()
Thanks guys, I just love doin it too. Bubba, this particular 400 I've done for Stephen (listeninbg to it now) had a max output of 258 before clopping, it now does 315. Nothing close to the Bose. Or is the Bose rated at 250??
With the copper heatsinks it gets warm tacked out, and a finer sounding amp I have not heard yet. Would love to keep this one. But I will pick up the Pig when I drop this one off, and I think the Pig after a little work will come close, I hope anyway. May have found some more Blackgates so cross your fingers, they DO HAVE a definate impact on the clarity.
Yeah Bose spec's on the 1801 are 250wpc at 8ohm. 400wpc at 4. As I have mentioned before, the tech that rebuilt my first 1801 said he was getting 500 a side without maxing it out. Thierry's revamped 1801's are doing 650 a side at 4 ohm I believe.
Yeah, we'd need Lee or Joe to confirm numbers on the 700, but I thought Lee had stated around 1000 or 1100 for the 700. If my old Bose tech's statement is true the stock 1801 is comparable to a WOPL 700.
I believe what the tech had said was true, as my 1801's walk all over my 800 watt pro amp.
