Fred's "my wife thinks I'm crazy" 700B conversion

Looks good Fred.

I still have to chuckle a bit when I see Tyco on electronics. I remember when they made cheesy toys. I had some as a kid. Now they make electronics, and actually are into alarm systems and telecom stuff as well.

They made some damn good HO train and slotcar sets back in the day

I use Military Specification wire such as MIL-W-22759/xx-x that is made from a Teflon composition. I like the silver coated 150 or 200 degree C wire the best as it is flexible and can handle the heat. I've used higher temperature wire but the insulation is not as bullet proof and in my experience it is more prone to chafing and nicks compared to the lower temperature wire.

I've been kicking around the idea of selling 10 foot lengths of the ten solid colors ranging from 16 AWG to 26 AWG if there is any interest here. The pricing will be very reasonable as I will cost it out at the 1,000 foot spool length. My goal is to get all new wire for some projects I'm working on so I'm willing to sell what I now have to anyone wanting good quality wire at a reasonable cost.

Interested here as well.

Suzy is sounding good on the home office test setup.

Dig that headroom...

The real test comes this weekend driving the 9Kappas. Impedance curve below. Waveform protection disabled. Family will need to be out of the house.

Interesting......gonna be looking forward to the union Fred!!

Better have fans ready (and a fire extinguisher LMAO) for the Kappa test Fred. A big box fan might be the ticket!

That was tongue in cheek Fred...if they click it'll work.

Actually I have tested them. Feed em a 10hz signal then clip it...they trip then...

Of course I did a real world test when an output blew once....had to replace one of those relays...

Given that this is Don's DC protect board I'm comfortable not torturing the amp to test it.

But I'm like you ..I feel no need to test each one either...

I'm more of a pessimist. I've lived inside my head for a lot of years. I always inspect things and test them twice before calling it good. I know I'm prone to missing things on occasion and making it a point to double check myself has saved me a lot of time and money over the years. Of course I learned to do that after wasting a lot of time and money.
