Fishoz's PL 400 Conversion

Two Bloody Mary's a Dragons Milk and some American chive in me, don't think I have the ability to complain.

Really loved the drive through YS today. Pulled Gail up to about 6 ft from a buffalo, should have seen the look on her face when she looked up from the camera, she thought she had the zoom on....hehehe.

Stripped.....

Sooooooo....we are now putting together an entirely different amp?!

I like the 8 fin idea, that's gotta help with the heat. Still Rev E?

Yes, still a REV E, and REV B backplanes....and a surprise....

I expect to be done by this weekend , give it a good shakedown and ship it by Tuesday...

Klipsch "Heresy's".........

I had a 700 on the D-9's, A Spec 2 on the K's woofs, a 400 on the mids and tweets, a 400 on one set of Heresy's, and a 400 on the other set of H's.........it got way loud....

Damn.... I bet it was!

Finally caught up on paperwork, working on the FishAmp...

That's a pretty beefy cap Lee. And that's about the extent of my electrical knowledge....

They are courtesy of Ed, Cornell-Dubilier 19,100uf, matched by Ed. They are 80 volt caps. Joes are 100 volt. I have used a bunch of these, so I'm confident using them with 80 volt rails. And you, like any other member who has an amp White-Oaked by me there is a lifetime guarantee, just split the shipping to get it here and back.

Ripped off one of Joe's cap kits for the hold down...

Lee, do you know if those caps will physically fit the early 400's side mount brackets? It looks like Joe's providing 16,400 uF/100V caps for the early 400's. Is there a huge difference in using 80V vs. 100V caps? I'm really curious about what the voltage differences will make with the operation of the amp if any. Thanks!

Randy

The 100 volt caps would be better from a reliability standpoint. And they may fit the side mount brackets. IIRC the originals were 1-5/8 diameter.
