I did have one freak out moment. 2 minutes into powering it up on rack power the DC protect board started to smoke. Now this was totally new and unheard of..I stared dumbfounded at it for a few seconds wondering what in the fuck could make the DCP smoke then quickly unplugged it. By then the smoke was so thick coming OUT OF THE RELAY it was apparent that was the problem. The DCP requires a 48vdc coil. Mouser had screwed up and sent a 12vdc relay instead....

Check twice and install once, it is easy to do. Mouser sent me resistors that were mixed 10 ohm and 100ohm in same bag. I always double check everything because it is easy to mix something up when you been slinging solder for a while, I used to check everything with a meter before installing them.

Better it magic smoke's now then when it gets home. Lee always personally blows up amps before sending them, get that shit out of the way so you can enjoy it forever after LMAO!!!! Call it a seal of approval!

On a side note, the M-504 just smoked both of the CV speaker fuses, first time I have gone wild with it. I think I will bump these up to 4amp 250vdc fastblows now for the CV's

Halfway through the frequency response test things went south. Blew the 5 amp positive rail fuse, replaced it and popped something on the right channel....back on the bench....

The 3 minus side emitter resistors went too....why would a positive output short cause the negative emitter resistors to go???
