Yeah, I didn't really want to let mine go but they are common enough to get. The 508 will be on my list next. Mmmmm, more power.....
 
I think 504's can be turned into 508's Perry, I think it's just a transistor on each side added? Same PS

Hiroshima and Nagasaki are completed

They are finally complete. Hiroshima and Nagasaki live... Just need to mess with the front panel to see what I want. The second one I guess is mine for the time being. Until I get talked out of it. Here are some pics of the second build.

If your dyslexia let's you populate R14 instead of R41, the opportunity amp will never turn on. No harm, easy fix, stupid feeling....:hello1:

I always dig the listening and torture tests...

And how many others out there try to max out there recently restored amps?? I mean usually it's not a part of the equation. But here it is.......and I love it. If something goes wrong , the man that designed the stuff is right here to take notes and see if it's something that's needs to be changed.......
 
I used to beat on my old junk... I can't bring myself to do it.... maybe down the road. I need to find a couple of old school junker speaker to wail on.
 
With lots of clean power you can wail a lot more than you think. Like I said I can clip a 400 on the K's, but I haven't clipped a 700 on em yet...
 
I'm learning these WOPL's quickly so I can keep them running (IF I could actually break one)
 
They are only 35wpc more then the M-504 w/ a few minimal extra features and weigh maybe 4lbs or so more, otherwise, the same amp so I am not sure why they bring much more coin. Even the damping factor is the same between them both at 140. The M-510 is the true badass of the M line and worthy of the high dollar amounts they bring. Either way, they are good reliable amps but not in the same league as WOPL's

I know they made less than 100 510 amps for USA sales, Which means I can't ever have one (or probably ever see one in person). I've heard them go in the 5-7K range. I guess I'll stick to the Lowly 504/508. I'll look for a nice one down the road. I still want the P-388 (I'd sacrifice a right nut) Pre but the last one I had blew up and was not worth fixing. Onk's are often looked over as inferior stuff but they probably never heard these items or they had 20 dollar speakers and lived in a cave.

Hiroshima may be returning home

I think Hiroshima may be returning home. Not because of any failure. My customer is afraid of it. I'll build him a stock one I guess. I don't think I have heard of that before. No problem though, I can change LED's and it will be Roxanne's twin.
