Dazen’s Digest

English??

Actual English English.

Translation to American: The BBC website was down for some time overnight Dec. 31 due to a Distributed Denial Of Service attack (DDOS).

That is when somebody or a bunch of somebodies (and usually their hacked army of infected bot computers worldwide) get together and try to flood a server with so many requests it cannot function and service is disrupted.

A SERVER HACK ATTACK, if you would. Let Jer explain it to you, it's a b---- for IT folks and extremely important.

I think they were back in control and partying again by 2 am.

Daren, some hapless miscreants got bloody mad their iPlayer wouldn't work in Terroristland and whupped out a nasty DDOS on the BBC this morning! Incorrigible, uncouth and clearly a case of rather bad cooties needing a topical ointment.

Frightful behaviour Steven.

It's just not cricket.

Definitely NOT.

I love how to the point the Guardian is, even telling us one of the article links is to a ten month old story. BRAVO

I have inadvertently added some mystery and intrigue with that link.

I have gone from Colonel Sanders to Colonel Mustard.
