cleaning female RCA input jacks

Few things worth noting:
Insert and remove, repeatedly is cool. Just don't - and I effin can't stress it enough - don't twist them into or out of the jacks. They grab like nobody's business. If you guys twist em, which is tempting to do, YOU WILL damage in the internal contact. Just insert, pull and repeat ! And do it dry. These things are composed such that they apply debridement + polishing action to the surfaces. It's also tempting to try coating them with contact cleaner before using them but that defeats the purpose. Use em dry, a lot - WITHOUT TWISTING THEM - then use swabs & polishing cloth to treat the surfaces with your favorite elixir. The gold jacks on my ES rig came out sparkling shiny following the instructions ... man was I tempted to improvise but I held it together.

I have to take a guess, but my intuition tells me that the RCA cleaning tool I received in the mail today came from Doug. Thank you Doug and I will make good use of it since my main system consists of many components I use for my recording sessions. It looks like a simple and, hopefully, effective tool.

This will be interesting. You have so many jacks just on that one piece Nando that you might want to clean that tool along the way with some ISO to knock down whatever accumulates on it, depending how it looks certainly...
