Such A Nice Gift!
Hi all,
I received my Christmas package this afternoon from the Post Office. Actually, I received two packages, as the other parcel contained an open-reel Supertramp demo tape I lent Robert, plus he enclosed a mix tape he recorded for me onto a 7" reel. That's mighty kind of you, Robert, and I'll be sure to get an open reel mix tape recorded for you in the New Year in appreciation of your generosity. There looks to be some good tunes on this tape, so I'm looking forward to hearing it.
I have to thank Lee and Steven for spearheading this community-minded gesture. It's such a nice way to cap off the year, and it has been great to hold a membership in a forum that really cares beyond the audio talk confined to these pages. This Maxell tape, as Lee has said, is no finer had it been brand-new. It's obviious by the care and attention to detail to the tape box insert, that someone took great effort to do a proper job, and took pride in this project. Most likely, I won't re-record over it. I want to hear the songs, as these aren't the songs I'm accustomed to listening to, and I'm sure I'll enjoy most of the classical pieces over a brandy.
The blank cassettes Steven included for this recording session is a neat idea, and I hope other members will provide feedback of their findings. The Christmas music CDs will be played through the holidays, as I usually, maintain that family tradition of having festive music while entertaining or baking. I hope to listen to and view the "Iceberg" CD, shortly.
Thanks once again for such comraderie, and I hope everyone has a safe and healthy holiday season!
Nando.
