George: It can't be that small of venue, right? I haven't had that sensation of ringing ears after finally hitting the sack after a live concert, or even visualizing and replaying the music in my skull in memory of a particularly loud set, for a very long time.

Nando.

Yep, back up and running D2, but still sorting out some bugs.
Don't have time for it right now. Too much other stuff on my plate at the moment.
As long as my emailer works, and my browser so I can still peruse that 'Bay place, and my FB page, and here, then all's good for now.

Nando, it's about a 2,200 capacity place. Old Theatre with 2 balconies. With a full house, it really sucks up the sound, but this Nexo PA just hacks through it. Funny enough, as loud as wot it got, my ears are just fine and not a trace of ringing. I guess that's wot you get when it's CLEAN. Lee would be able to back me up I'm sure..... ;)

I did spend the day with the guys today from about 11am to 6pm. Opened my eyes to whole lot of new technology. Just scary as hell.
Anyway, we all had a fab time, and yes, I did go home with a show bag stuffed with one of these things:

Don't let the size fool you. It's a Digico SD11 Digital Mixing Console. This is a fully programable 32 channels into 8 subgroups and it's got more 'toys' built into it than a Recording Studio, and it's sitting on the floor in front of my desk right now.
I just don't know where to put this sucker, so some major squishing tomorrow to try and set it up somewhere so I can play with it.

Anyway, if you follow the link below, you'll then see wot I just got myself into, so lots of smartening up to do in the next couple o' weeks....

Here's 'mine'..... ;)

As in payment for work "involved"?

All in good time Lee. This has all been quite quick for me.
I have a lot of learning to do, before I can be let loose on this stuff.
Once I've mastered the desk, the opportunities are endless.....
.... but it's all quite daunting, with such a steep learning curve, and I need some familiarity before I can start outgrowin' my boots.
Obviously, they've given me a desk to play with for good reason. I just don't know wot it is yet. ;)

Yes you do, to implement what you learn on it somewhere else..

That's awesome news George, back to your stompin' ground, get those decibels cranking. You'll pick it up just fine with the knowledge you already have. I didn't realise it in the first picture but that panel on the front is actually a touch screen, nice.

It's a pretty little thing.
Finally got it incorporated into my stereo, and have been fiddling with it for a bit now.
There's just too much to know. It's gonna be a tuffy for this old dog, but I'll either have fun or go nuts working it out.
Pro'ly both.....

... oh, and yes D2, it's just one big touch screen, and there's a billion pages to scroll thru'.

More of a "hands on" approach than a mac track pad :evil4:

What's happening George? Sounds like you are very busy doing what you love. Good on ya mate, knock em out with some stellar mixing :)

More pics of the mixing desk/venue where you have been working =)

too busy to even think about.
i've gone from doing NOTHING 24 hours a day, to being up to my neck in it for 12 hours a day, and most of it on my feet. (which is REALLY bad for the screws in my back!)
i just don't have the time to get used to it, if i don't want to miss this last boat.
there's at least 3 months of this before i go anywhere near a full blown gig. or, i might just put it in the 'too hard' basket.....
