That's how Joe does it. No foam pad for me. Insert part, tack solder on top , flip, solder and clip. When it comes to a cap, insert part, turn board sideways, touch iron to lead with other hand hold cap to board, remove iron, finish titling board, finish solder and clip.I tack about a 1/4 of the resistors then flip, solder and clip. Small caps about 4 at a time, big caps 2 at a time. It was 4-1/2 hours from start to finish. With several breaks to scream at the TV, turn TV off, fire up the tune box , etc....probably with no interruptions a good 3 hour project.
