All about Cans!

And I used to have the Koss Pro-4aa's. I liked them a lot. Great bass response.

Check the Koss site...they should still be rebuilding anything they made hopefully...will save you losing a beloved pair if you really value them that much.

Another great recording for headphones is this one by Wendy Carlos. Any true lover of electronic music should have at least one of her albums in their collection.

I have dozen's of music in the E.M. genre and I don't know If you can call me an expert, but I don't have anything by Walter/Wendy......
Things like him/her, Tomita, Jean Michel Jarre (except for the Sessions 2000 album) and most of the work done by Vangelis aren't my cup of tea really.

It's a matter of taste I guess. ;-)

Edit: I just realize that I can spent a whole thread about electronic music.....

I have the soundtrack to A Clockwork Orange and one other but CBS really mangled it making it quad and buying her personal label pressings is much preferered.

If Beats are so good, why do I see them for sale on CL so much? Buyer dis-satisfaction?

Could be.

I would guess that they are just discarded because something else has come to the market that looks cooler. Kids these days are happy to dump expensive bits of kit at the drop of a hat.

Insane! pricedrop....

Although I'm still not very positive about my experiences with Sony cans in the past I couldn't resist to order a pair of these:

The Sony MDR-1 NC, the most expensive one from the MDR-1 series.
Brandnew in box and with full factorywarranty!

They were offered at an official Sony dealer with an insane! pricetag of $98,- intstead of it's normal $430,- + :cyclopsani:
I will give these cans the "benefit of the doubt" and will try them, and if they are not to my satisfaction I can send them back without making any costs....

They will be delivered just after Christmas. :bounce:

That is an excellent price for a brand new pair of quality headphones, Miles. I hope they prove to be good ones.

Nando.

Hopefully, they will exceed your expectations Miles.

Something to look forward to after Christmas. :)

I hope so Daren, the design of it isn't a problem anyway.
It has the looks, but normally seen these aren't the kind of cans I would buy for it's normal $430 + price.

Edit: To be continued..

I think they look like some nice cans Miles. Maybe even if you dont like them you could pass on that great deal to a member. Obviously adding shipping costs... Cant say that I wouldnt be interested though.

My niece was gifted a pair of those beats studio headphones. I quickly had a listen, my first thought was "these are shit". Of course the source was a cell phone with some loudness wars music. I explained that I could not make an accurate assessment of the phones, without hearing a quality source, with some quality music. While they were fairly comfortable, they felt like suction cups on my ears. As well the noise cancellation effect did not work so well. I could hear people talking with them on.

Tried several for a quick listen....

Designed, marketed and way overpriced for the "thirteen in a dozen" Smartphone public.
Not my thing.

haha, I think its pretty obvious that they would not be for you Miles. I was just wondering if you had in fact tried them. I also agree that those phones werent for me either. The bass was a little much, found they were a little too boomy for headphones.

One of my Christmas gifts would have been enough to satisfy me. My son, Matt, bought me a pair of AKG K-240 MK II headphones. I had these on not long after unwrapping them. Matt knew I was a fan of AKG, but he did demo several different pairs of headphones before buying these. Now, he knows why I like them so much, as they were the best he listened to in his price range. I was about to make the plunge to get a new set, or even a good pair of used ones, but I don't need to now. Or... I made the mistake of visiting the AKG web site and seeing the K812s. I can understand Miles' penchant for getting more headphones.

Nando.
