700B Customer Build

All boxed up and on the truck for delivery.
I did my best to minimize and/or eliminate the worst foreseeable handling and shipping processes.
4" of foam on all sides using layers of 2" foam sheets.
2 layers of 2" foam below:
Bottom layer of 2" foam with amp outline cutout sitting on top of 4":
Amp wrapped within flannel material after placing tape on brushed aluminum handles. Cutouts placed on side of foam to aid in removal:
Final layer of 2" foam placed on top and ready for taping box up for shipping:

Some years ago I sent a Teac A3300 open reel recorder from Vancouver to Montreal for head work. Not sure why I chose to ship FedEx, probably cost. At the depot, I did the paperwork and paid the freight. Next I asked the attendant for some Fragile stickers to attach to the box. He explained that they no longer provided them because "The last thing you want to do is identify your package as Fragile".

We were just notified at work that a machine being shipped to us was damaged by fire as it was involved in an accident where a pickup T-boned the trailer and caught fire. Got pictures of the crate after opening. It appears to have survived with no damage. It will arrive tomorrow for a thorough examination.
But the driver will likely drop it. I write HEAVY END on the Transformer end of the box; top, bottom, and sides. Even though the drivers load their trucks, they may not remember the 1 box of 200 that is unbalanced. My FedEx driver told me they put the heavy end in first for racking, and that almost guarantees a drop when the heavy end slips off the rack or out of the back of the truck if it is on the floor.

You will continue to be amazed as you listen to your new 700b. I listen to all kinds
of music, and a lot of early Jazz vinyl. Much of it is Mono of course, and I have been listening
to these albums for over 50 years. Through my WOPL 700b, I still hear things that I never did before.
I love Joe's design, and the proof is always in the music.
The soundstage and clarity are amazing. I use several different Pre-Amps in my main system, but the fixture
pre- has no tone controls at all, just volume and balance, line level. Music the way it was engineered, and the way the artist intended it to be heard.
Your 700b is built with expert craftsmanship, and the best components we have today. Mine never cease to
amaze me.
Enjoy, I have built 3 WOPL 700b's and it seems they sound better after a week. I know they say that the caps we use don't
need a "burn in" but every one seems to get a little better as I play them.

Cleaned up all the thermal paste.
Drilled and chamfered each side of all heat sink mounting holes.
All 4 heat sinks now match holes in the chassis for mounting TO-3 outputs.
