Damn J!m that looks nice! If my kid brother ever gets a lathe, Imma have him turn me one. My 'table is a beast so I can put a really heavy clamp/weight on if I want.....

a big chunk of 316 would be plenty heavy, and it polishes up like a mirror (used for a lot of wrist watch cases).

It’s a good beginners project because only the spindle hole is “critical” and even that is pretty easy. Making it from one piece would be easier as well. Prepping and pressing the pieces can be tricky.
