How to match pinout for trim pots?

Two of the four output transistors were gone and are now replaced. When I receive and install new bias pots, the DBT will hopefully go dark. Assuming that both the 12 turn pot and single turn pot I ordered can be made to fit, is one better than the other for bias adjutment in a SS amp? My...

How to match pinout for trim pots?

Thanks Glen, that will help. Those I ordered should arrive in 3 or 4 days. Next chore for me I guess is pulling the output transistors and see if any of those got damaged.

How to match pinout for trim pots?

The original that I removed has a width of 11mm so I chose two types based on that dimension. I was focusing on 12 turn top adjustment so settled on one that is 6.35mm X 4.19mm. When in front of me, I will see if it can be made to fit. I looked as well at single turn type and ordered that...

How to match pinout for trim pots?

Hoping for some enlightenment. If the distance between pins on trim pot data sheets exists, I cannot comprehend it. Other than being 1K ohm and 1/4 watt, I am at a loss to pick one. I removed an original that is suspect so as I could measure distances between pins but so far, I cannot see...

just arrived - hey yall :D

Someone I knew related how he and some friends created injectable solutions from food items to experience the taste sensation. He made particular mention of chocolate cake.

100 watt resistors needed for a one time job - did not expect them to look like this.

Well, I've been proven wrong before and I appreciated the DIY suggestions but I'm going with those chassis mount 100 watt resistors. If I forsaw myself needing large dummy speaker loads in the future, it might prompt me cobble one together. This is where I could be mistaken but I imagine...

100 watt resistors needed for a one time job - did not expect them to look like this.

I'll take that as an OK to use this resistor type. There is a piece of aluminum here I can attach a resistor to and I will if gets overly warm. I don't think the proceedure I need it for will take very long. Just a matter of adjusting a couple of pots while monitoring voltage.

100 watt resistors needed for a one time job - did not expect them to look like this.

I am at the tail end of a small project. I replaced two relays and all electrolytic capacitors (100uF and smaller) in a Sanyo 100 watt MOSFET amplifier. The service manual describes an adjustment proceedure that calls for a 100 watt 8 ohm resistor across + and - speaker terminals. The...

    what are you listening to?

I have a copy of that on vinyl. Bought it brand new when the jacket had "at Albert Hall" printed on it. Never did open it - still sealed. Consequently, I've never heard that recording before.

Opinon wanted on what type of capacitor this might be

Thanks for the input. I will assume then that the parts list description, "electrolytic capacitor" is wrong. My intent is determining the cost of replacing electrolytic capacitors in the amplifier. Excluding the large filter caps of which there are four, total expense of ordering lots of 4...

Opinon wanted on what type of capacitor this might be

The unit is a Sanyo Plus P55 power amp. I have been reviewing capacitors contained in the parts list and found what I think is a descrepancy. The capacitors at positions C723 & C724 are described as 150V - 0.047uF - electrolytic. Was there ever such a thing as a 150 volt 0.047uf...

Open-Reel Tape Experiences -The Good & Bad

That squealing is a hideous sound. I experienced it with Sony PR150. Several PR150’s actually. Kind of a shame because there was some good stuff recorded on them. And my one and only prerecorded open reel tape, Rod Stewart - Smiler. The first 1/3 sounds great then the squealing starts. What...

    what are you listening to?

I have, I think, one only Cocteau Twins album and have played it maybe twice. Can't remember the album title but it's got the track Sugar Hiccup on it. That song is an ear worm for me that crops up from time to time. Like right now......thanks a lot Mark.

    Happy Birthday Nando

Whenever I've revisited the Lower Mainland, I went to Urban Repurpose. Since my workdays were spent nearby, when my shift ended, I went to that store frequently over several years even since before it relocated to Brooksbank Ave. There was never a ton of audio but what I did find there were...

    Akai X2000SD

I had to look that model up myself. In the 1970's I was in a band that rehearsed/jammed in my basement. The drummer worked for a company with a connection to Roberts. He brought one of those things (branded Roberts) over one night so we could record ourselves. With two cheap mics hanging...

And from me as well, Lee. Glad I spotted this and could squeak in my well wishes before today becomes tomorrow.
