I was suggesting you try - right click on the drive, select change drive letter and remove. To remove the drive letter only.

In the start box type 'computer management' select storage/disk management , then unassign the drive letter from the drive... disappear

I ran the updates I was delaying. The largest was 230 mb or so. Don't see any noticable problems with speed, but I don't think they offered the update that was causing problems, for my win7 machine...yet.

I'm looking at the '2018-01 security monthly quality rollup for window 7 x64..' they offered and its only 23.4 MB. Is that the one people are having trouble with? I thouth is was 900mb or something.

Win7 pro here. Doesn't seem to be an issue. Auto update has always been off and when I told this update to hide it stopped asking like any other.

For now my soluion is a simple one. Cloned th C: drive to an identical one and replaced it. I do that twice a year regardless and it was due. Skipped the update and sent it to hide.

Ran the Firefox update. No issue there. Has anyone run the MS update yet? I'm holding off till I see some feedback on the results.
