I recapped my PL2000 last year sometime, replaced all the electolytic caps , cleaned out the pots/switches, etc. Also as suggested above, cleaned flux and literally had to reflow each and every one of the rear RCA solder joints. Broken joints everywhere; when you take a close look, you'll...

It's been a good day. Got the filter caps, control board installed. Brought up the amp as per instructions with the all new transistors row by row w/ my dim bulb tester and variac, and finally biased both channels to .350 VDC after warmup. Next steps are to install Don's DC protect board, and...

Resistors are all in... left some space under the 3 watt ones 31R/L for airflow... thinking that should be OK (let me know if it's not). Moving right along...

Finally got started... blown away by the quality of the L14_20 RevE5 Control Board kit, including the labeled baggies and pre-formed leads. Top-notch all around. OK... White Oak control board (to be assembled), filter caps, outputs and Watts Abundant parts are all in... going to clean off the bench this weekend and get going on this. Pictures and (probably) some questions to come. Nice detailed instructions all printed out for reference. :)

Got the fuses in today and replaced all. 2x AGX-8 and the single AGC-8 amp. Failed the dim bulb test w/ a 150 watt bulb. Light stayed on, right meter swung for a few seconds and settled down. I don't recall the left meter moving at all. So, thinking I'll just order up a new control board and...
