the film caps Make a difference. They are there to deal with any inductance in the rail supply wires. The closer to the collector of the outputs the better they work. Spread evenly between the four outputs is best.

    WOPL a Carver C-500 Amp.

Hello interesting layout. Your Mylar .33uf cap need to go from rail to ground . In the photos it appears to me they go from rail to output, but I may not see it correctly. Also you would be happy to add a 1.5uf metal film caps along wi these .33uf caps. I use 2 1.5 on each rail along with a .33...

    Nice 400-ll to rebuild

Thanks for the Question Mark Good eagle eye there, how many more tweaks can you find? so to the answer I put a 1n5366bg Zenor diode to act as a max voltage regulator ahead of the rest of the regulator section. It’s a safety valve if you like. This limits down stream voltage to 39 voltes in...

    Nice 400-ll to rebuild

This unit has run daily for two years so I built an other one. the project is unorthodox for sure but I have reasons for this next build.. it’s a balanced input amp with lots of little differences to conventional build. I finished it today with testing to come.

    PL 1200 RTA microphone

Lee I did not concider the internal changes with my suggestion that said the RTA 1200 may be just eye candy from now on as you can buy a whole DBX setup for around $300 and get full control from your phone , iPad or tablet with adjustment out the wazoo
