I have 2 and make sure you get one w the Case. They don't need calibration for what we do and they are very accurate . The Fluke 77 has a better case than the newer ones do. How many Resistors are bad?
Joe found that Gene had the Mica capacitors that were pushed to far into the Control Boards , The Mica capacitors from the factory had crud on them which leak down the leads and could also leak when heated up which could cause a bad solder joint. Gene found one open (I also install mine pushed...
I also been running my Amp into Lower ohm speakers (impedance I have not tested yet) and they sounded great until I turn them up loud (w more bass it happens at lower Volume) than I get a ripping sound thought the Tweeter , is that what you had? before disconnected the protection circuit?
fill me in? as I recall you blow 3-outputs? Was their any burn marks on the Transistors? or silicone pads or chasey? and did you mark were they came out of ? and is that related to were the open resistors you found? I think your on the right track you could have blow some of the resistors when...
Post a Pic of the Speaker Protection Board first Than we will know which one you have.
Also check to make sure the cut ground wire is hooked up to the RCA copper plate and goes back to the 0vdc Capacitor Copper buss Plate

Just trying to help.
In the Debug world you have to look at what's hooked up to the speakers to cause it to hum before the relay kicks in. That's all I was trying to say! I don't have your speaker protection board so I'm out,,,,,,,,,
Were are the wiring Schematics? (I don't have this one) I could be wrong but the Description says the relay shorts out the speakers outputs?
Meter is hooked to the speaker by passing the relay?
No I was just making a joke Not of you just in General.
You could un-wire the wires you added from the meter to the speaker protection board (Lt and Rt) or just one and see if the buss goes away.
Dont worry about the RCA Cables, you probably don't have a problem.
This might be were the Hum is...
No- Not the Inputs
Yes - The relay is open and does not hook the amp to the speakers but in this design it also shorts the - and + together for both Speakers (but your meters are hook up to it ,,, Joe good or bad? could Dc bypass the relays? throw the meters leads)
Well you are right or you found a Typo? What does Joe think and the Forum?
all boards show it wired like the one you wired to the left board.
only advances on the Left side is for service which you could flip the board to the Left.
Either way it will work.
Going on vacation, leaving right now...
I always make and use Check list even if you do more than one
Found one, the 16awg Blue wire is wired to the Right bottom (3) instead of the LT Bottom Fused -B in . (Lt Board) Electrically it still might work unless you need a long jumper on the back of the board?
